Saint Mary’s Brings Back “Mammo’s & Martini’s Event” for Breast Cancer Awareness in October
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Saint Mary’s encourages women across the River Valley to take the opportunity to schedule their mammogram using our 3D Imaging Technology.
Saint Mary’s brought back our “Mammogram’s & Martini’s” after hours event for the first time since pre-Covid (in 2019) with great success! We opened the outpatient clinic and had every position filled from 5-8p.m. with treats from it’s Reighning Cookies, a Mock-tail Bar, and Door prizes worth over $400 from local businesses. The Zeta Sororities from Arkansas Tech University donated their time and painted souvenir martini glasses that patients took home with them after their mammograms, too.
We are looking forward to hosting this event next year for our community! Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success.
Regular mammograms are essential to early detection and the fight against breast cancer. One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, which is why it is so important to begin annual mammogram screenings at age 40.
Every day we learn more about breast cancer and how to win the battle against the disease. One thing is clear — early detection is a distinct advantage.
Fortunately, breast cancer is highly detectable through digital mammography screening. If breast cancer is detected early, the five-year survival rate is 97 percent.
Your health means everything, count on us for your next mammogram. Take advantage of our 3D Imaging technology and take control of your health. We take breast cancer awareness seriously in October and year-round.
