Saint Mary’s Regional Health System Welcomes New Provider, Dr. Jim Chen

Saint Mary’s Regional Health System is pleased to announce the addition of Jim Chen, MD, medical oncology and hematology specialist, to the medical staff.  

“I am excited to join the medical staff at Saint Mary’s,” said Dr. Chen. “I look forward to caring for the members of Russellville and surrounding areas providing innovative and patient-centered care. I’m particularly thankful to be caring for patients in a place where their standards align with my personal patient care goals, making it an easy decision to join the team.” 

Dr. Chen's expertise includes genitourinary oncology, medical oncology, general hematology and bone marrow biopsies. He is fluent in both English and Chinese, enabling him to serve a diverse patient population. 

Dr. Chen obtained his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed both his residency and fellowship at UAMS, where he distinguished himself as Chief Resident and Chief Fellow. His primary specialty is medical oncology with a secondary specialty in hematology, bringing a comprehensive approach to cancer care and blood disorders. 

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Chen is also a software developer for an AI company, MIBA, dedicated to enhancing the quality of oncology care through innovative technology. His commitment to advancing medical care extends beyond the clinic, aiming to improve patient outcomes and experiences through technological advancements.
